11.11.2022

Educational Tour

An educational Tour was arranged jointly by the Department of Economics and Department of Commerce to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Kolkata on 11.11.22. Students of Semester 3 and 5 (BA, BSC, BCOM) participated in the tour. Total 70 persons including students and teachers participated. Faculties of BSE conducts a program about the awareness of stock market, its features, course structures etc. Live market was also displayed to the students and they were informed about future job prospects in the financial market.

Economic Literacy Program

An economic literacy Program was arranged at Jagatballavpur High School on 4.11.2022. There were13 students from XI & XII (Science) were participated in the program. They have been informed about the Subject ECONOMICS, its future prospects and preconditions of taking Economics as a Honours subjects. Students have been encouraged to continue their higher study (Graduation Level) with Economics Honours.

Induction Program

A student Induction Program for the students of Semester-1 was held on 28/10/2022 at 11:30 am in Room no.34.
Total 23 students were present at the program including BA(G), B.Sc.(H), B.Com.(H+G) Following topics were discussed
1) Future Prospect on the subject.
2) Job Prospect.

Parent-Teachers’ Meeting

A PTM is arranged on 22/09/2022 at 12.30 pm at Room no.34.
Number of students were present: 24 and Number of parents were present: 24
Objectives of the Program:
1) Build up a relationship among students, teachers and parents.
2) Awareness about female education.
3) Job oriented discussion.
4) To take feedbacks and proposals given by the parents. Etc.
Suggestions given by the parents:
1) To open computer training center for developing computer skill among students.
2) To arrange spoken English classes.

Mentor-mentee Program (Sem 3G)

A Mentor-Mentee Program was arranged on 14.9.2022 with the students of Semester 3, General. In this program We have tried to hear the students, their problems and doubts about the subject. Also insists them to talk freely about their problems to understand the subjects.

Orientation Program

A student Orientation program was held on 2nd September, 2022 at 12.30 PM at Room No. 34 for the outgoing students of Semester VI (BA/B.SC/B.COM).
A total of 6 to 7 students were present.
The discussions were as follows.
1) After completion of graduation, how the students will move on to further higher studies. How the subject “Economics” helps in carrier build up that also discussed.
2) How higher studies will help them to obtain better jobs in the future.
3) Discussion on job related activities as well as carrier counselling.

Departmental Meeting

Second departmental meeting held on 18/08/2022 at 12 pm. Minutes of the Meeting:
▪ Decision was taken on Departmental data and academic profile of the faculties will be submitted by 21st August 2022.
▪ Discussion done on lesson plan for ODD semester classes.
▪ Dates of different program such as Orientation Program, Induction Program, PTM, Mentor-mentee Program etc were decided.
▪ Date of Educational Tour were decided.
▪ Date decided of wall magazine, seminar were decided.

Minutes of the Meeting:
▪ Meeting was arranged to decide how to make teaching profile and submit to the IQAC.
▪ Next meeting date was fixed which will be held on 18/8/2009.
▪ To fix the date of different programs as per the instructions of IQAC.
