The Vishaka Guidelines were a set of procedural guidelines for use in India in cases of sexual harassment in workplace. They were promulgated by the Indian Supreme Court in 1997 and were superseded in 2013 by the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. This Act requires an employer to set up an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at each office or branch having more than 10 employees of any gender. In compliance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment Act 2013, our college has set up an Internal Complaints Committee also known as Vishakha Panel, in 201`6. In addition to ensuring compliance with the other provisions stipulated, the Sexual Harassment Act casts certain obligations upon the employer to inter-alia.
