Economics Literacy Program

An Economics Literacy Program was arranged at a higher secondary School namely Akuni BG Biharilal Institution, Akuni, Hooghly, West Bengal on 21.02.2023. There were more than 50 students from class IX & X participated in the program. They have been informed about the Subject ECONOMICS, its future prospects, job market  possibilities and preconditions of taking Economics as a Honours subject with the help of a power-point presentation. This program not only increased their awareness about the subject of Economics but also encouraged them to continue their higher study (Graduation Level) with Economics as Major subject. We have requested the Headmaster of the school to pursue a combination of Mathematics, Economics, and another non-lab based subject in 10+2 level so that the students who are willing to take economics as a Major subject in graduation can continue their studies. Wall Magazine

The Department of Economics had published a Wall Magazine on 12.04.2023 namely “Artha Bikshan”. The magazine was published by Dr. K. K. Mondal, Principal, Sovarani Memorial College. Students of different semesters participated by writing articles, drawing diagrams and charts. It was beautifully decorated by the students of the department.
